Useful things to know

GEAR TO BRING

You will need your own sleeping bag (or sheets and duvet), pillow and towel. You can download an adventure gear list to start preparing for your trip to BMAC at the bottom of this page. BMAC supplies all safety equipment, and if individuals do not have adequate raincoats or polyprop, BMAC can also provide these.

YOUR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Your duty instructor will meet your group upon arrival at BMAC, welcome you, and see that you settle in. All groups are required to depart BMAC by 1pm, unless other prior arrangements have been made.

CLEANING AND DUTIES

We ask that you leave your lodge clean and as you found it. A final check will be completed before you leave. All cleaning materials are provided within the lodges. Any graffiti, losses or breakages of gear or equipment will be your responsibility.

EMERGENCIES

All BMAC instructors hold first aid certification, so please ask us for help even if you’re not at an activity.

TRANSPORT

Each group must arrange their own transport to and from BMAC. We provide vans and trailers for transport to and from activities.

TELEPHONE AND INTERNET

There is cell coverage in Raurimu however we encourage leaders to gather in phones at the start of a course. Leaders can access our wifi from Koa lodge or the meeting area at the office.

ON-SITE POLICIES

We ask that you respect our ‘no alcohol’ policy on our property.

We recommend that no speakers of any kind are brought to BMAC. This is a place to get away from your ‘normal life’, enjoy the amazing natural surroundings and see the world in a new way.
