Your Questions Answered

What are the living arrangements like?

There are a few different options for staff accommodation at BMAC. From entire homes for families/married couples, to shared housing options for single staff, there is something to suit everyone here at the Centre. All of our accommodation options are onsite at BMAC  fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among staff. Staff can choose to live offsite if they prefer, which would be their own responsibility to arrange.

What facilities are available in the single staff shared accommodation?

Single staff accommodation is provided in our brand new four bedroom, two bathroom house. Each staff member will have their own comfortable, spacious room, with large built in wardrobe.

Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and oven, laundry facilities, as well as lounge furniture are provided.

Staff will need to bring their own bed, bedding and toothbrush.

What facilities are available in the family accommodation?

Family accommodation options vary. Options on site include 3 different sized houses.

Fully equipped kitchens with diswasher and oven, bathrooms and laundry facilities, as well as lounge furniture are provided.

Staff will need to bring their own bed, bedding and toothbrush.

What facilities are available on-site?

Where can I shop for groceries?

Last minute groceries can be conveniently purchased at the 4 Square in National Park township 7km away from BMAC. For more affordable groceries and a larger selection, Taumarunui, (25 minutes drive) Ohakune, (30 minutes) and Turangi (40 minutes drive) all have bigger supermarkets from which to stock up.

Is there a local church?

We run a little local Salvation Army church called Soul Kai at the centre on Sunday nights at 5pm. For alternative morning church options, Taumarunui, Raetihi and Turangi all have churches that you can attend.  Staff are encouraged to find a church home, and in support of this, BMAC will provide a van for staff to attend a local church.

What is there to do for fun?

Raurimu is situated on the edge of the Tongariro National Park, AKA – adventure mecca.
Think grade 2, 3, 4 rivers, fantastic bolted and trad climbing routes, world class fly fishing, NZ great walks, all within an hour of BMAC. National Park, Turangi and Ohakune all host indoor climbing walls if you’re in need of more than what BMAC has onsite. Mountain bike trails are plentiful, all within a half hour from the centre.
